Dirt Guard

King Carthur Dirt Guard is a grit guard of an entirely new design, created to prevent wash scratches and keep the wash water as clean as possible from the beginning to the end of the wash session! The grit guard is placed at the bottom of the wash bucket, where its small cone-shaped cyclones force sand and other small dirt particles to the bottom of the bucket and stop them from mixing with the wash water again. The cyclones work like one-way valves: dirt that travels to the bottom of a cyclone cannot get back into circulation in the wash water. Unlike many other grit guards, Dirt Guard is curved, so one edge rises slightly off the bottom of the wash bucket while still maintaining a wall-like barrier between the sand at the bottom and the wash water above. The curved shape makes wiping the mitt against the guard easy and maximally safe: because one edge rises off the bottom of the bucket, the grit guard cannot accidentally stir up the dirt at the bottom.
